Being second largest
party in Nepalese politics, there is special importance of 9th
general assembly of CPN (UML). There are already numerous speculations for the
post of party president.
In mean time, secretary
of CPN (UML) iterated that there is no moral ground to stand in presidency by
present incumbent Jhalnath Khanal and former general secretary and senior
leader Madhav Kumar Nepal. He further claimed that Madahv Kumar Nepal was
already three times chief executive of party as well Jhal Nath Khanal was
previous party secretary and present president, so as per constitution of
party, they can’t be candidate for new president.
However, senior leader KP Oli
will win in presidency in coming general assembly. Secretary Pokhrel also
reiterated that there could be change in constituency and both leaders can be
accommodated in new provision. He further stressed that party is running from
concept and policy of KP Oli, the leadership must be from the same.
