The Duet
Folk singer Pashupati Sharma has got the mastery over heart-touching diction in
his songs. His 'Malai America Yahi' was his latest hit in the list.
But his
new album 'Gaun Nikala' has brought him some trouble. Sharma has fallen in a
controversy blamed of humiliating the Dalits (low caste), regarding the diction
in a song form the album. Arguments have begun whether to let the song to be
played through media or not.
The
lyrics of the song go something like this:
Ke ko
bahun ke ko janjati
Jatka
kura garneharu deshka lagi ghati
Jatka
kura garneko dimag kaha chha?
Mero
chorale kamini lyayo
Meri
chhori ni damaisita gai,
Maile
pani gurungseni lyakai ho
Hami
nepali haun, malai tyati thahachha
Hamro
gharma jatka kura hunna…….
The
initial protest for his lyrics has come from 'Dalit Service Association'
through a statement saying that the song is apparently directed to the Dalits.
Pashupati
Sharma defended himself saying that his sole purpose was to flow the positive
message of nationality through the song and that who are protesting will
definitely be silent after watching its video which is just being released.
